Is a medical imaging technique employing
tomography. Digital geometry processing is used to generate a three-dimensional
image of the inside of an object from a large series of two-dimensional X-ray
images taken around a single axis of rotation. The word "tomography" is derived
from the Greek tomos (slice) and graphein (to write).used to
visualize the internal structure and function of the body.

Some slices of a cranial CT scan are shown. The bones are
whiter than the surrounding area. (Whiter means higher attenuation.) Note
the blood vessels (arrowed) showing brightly due to the injection of an
iodine-based contrast agent.
