Incidence

The annual incidence of malignant gliomas is approximately 5 cases per 100,000 people.

Glioblastomas account for approximately 60 to 70% of malignant gliomas, anaplastic astrocytomas for 10 to 15%, and anaplastic oligodendrogliomas and anaplastic oligoastrocytomas for 10%

The median age of patients at the time of diagnosis is 64 years in the case of glioblastomas.
